Shelf · Privacy

A bookmark manager with a clear boundary.

Shelf is a browser extension that organizes your existing bookmarks into workspaces, folders, and pins, without an account and without sending your bookmarks or browsing activity to a server.

Information we collect

None of the above leaves your device — Shelf reads and writes this data locally, using Chrome's own browser APIs.

What Shelf does not do

Third-party services

None. Shelf does not call any external server or AI service — all processing happens locally in your browser using the packaged extension code.

Data storage and retention

Workspace layout, folder structure, and pins are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's bookmarks and storage APIs. Uninstalling Shelf removes this data from the extension; your underlying Chrome bookmarks are unaffected.

Permissions

International users

Shelf processes everything locally in your browser, so no data about you crosses any border in the first place — there is nothing for us to transfer or store on servers in any jurisdiction.

Children's privacy

Shelf is not directed at children under 13, and since it collects no personal data, it does not knowingly process data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Shelf develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and the "last updated" date below will change accordingly.
